In most circumstances, Skyline Roofing recommends installing 1×4 wood purlins spaced horizontally every two feet over the existing roof deck. A vapor barrier is then to be installed over the 1×4 purlins to protect the wood structure from condensation. The Sky-Rib metal roof panels can now be installed over the vapor barrier and screwed to the 1×4 purlins below. The Sky-Rib panel is fastened with a high-quality 50yr ProZ screw.
